Rosemont Inn Guest Comments
These are comments by recent guests of Rosemont Inn:
We have stayed at many B&Bs over the years, but the Rosemont Inn is far and away the best inn we've ever visited. Howard and Linda Awand are amazing hosts and provided for every desire before we even knew we wanted something.
The Rosemont Inn is housed in a beautifully restored and maintained Victorian mansion, situated on a bluff overlooking the Ohio River. The fire pit and hot tub overlooking the river are the last word in nirvana. Each of the five bedrooms is exquisitely decorated and includes luxurious beds, with pressed linens, individual bathrooms and selections from the Awands magnificent art collection. Definitely check-out the room photos on their website.
Linda provides sumptuous breakfasts and dinners for guests of the inn. She posts her dinner menus on-line, making it very easy to select your excellent dinner when making your room reservations. All prices are exceptionally reasonable, making your stay a great value.
If you are looking for a pampered experience in an gorgeous setting with gracious, genial hosts, you need look no further than the Rosemont Inn in Vevay, IN. You may be like us and start thinking of the Inn as a destination in and of itself!

"The experience of staying at Rosemont Inn is just spectacular. Congenial and talented owners await you to provide an over all wonderful experience. The B&B is a treasure trove of art, history, lavish appointments and posh construction. The spirit is high and its obvious the owners care deeply that your stay is unique and memorable. The Inn is situated in a beautiful county with many interesting things to do in the area. We particularly enjoyed the conversing with the owners; they are erudite, well traveled, have many years in the service industry and amusing stories to tell."

We enjoyed the quiet peaceful atmosphere at the Rosemont Inn. Linda & Howard were GREAT!! hosts. The food was fabulous and the home is beautiful. They have preserved the history of the house and are working to return the home to its original grandeur. We are already planning our next weekend for March 2008. This was truly a relaxed, quiet weekend. We all need that in our busy lives, we just need to set aside the time.

My wife and I recently stayed one night at the Rosemont Inn and was totally and completely impressed with the facilities and the host, Howard and LInda. I really cannot add anything to all the wonderful previous posts about the Rosemont. They are all so accurate and true. Thanks again Howard and Linda. We had a great time and hope to see you again next year.

This was our first experience with staying at a B&B. The Rosemont will probably be the standard by which we judge all future experiences. Linda and Howard are wonderful hosts and go above and beyond expectations. The setting is beautiful and relaxing. The food is excellent. You cannot leave without feeling pampered! Many of the other guests were back for the second time this year. We would definately recommend it; however, reluctantly, because we're afraid we will not be able to get back in because it will be FILLED!

We have stayed at several B&B's over the last 13 years and while the facilities and amenities at the Rosemont Inn where some of the best we have enjoyed, it was the personal touch of the Innkeepers, Linda and Howard, that went above and beyond what we have ever experienced anywhere else. They have a true talent when it comes to hospitality, fine dining and entertaining. They are truly some of the friendliest and most fascinating people we have ever met.

If you're looking for a little bit of history and plenty of opportunities to relax, this is the place for you! I've stayed here twice and have been totally impressed with the service. Our clean and tidy room had a beautiful view of the river. Fireplaces in each room add to the romantic appeal.

If you are looking for peace and quite, you will find it at the Rosemont Inn plus a lot more. The innkeepers are so welcoming and fulled with interesting history about the Inn. Linda is a wonderful cook serving a delicious, filling breakfast. She is willing to cook dinner as well when notified in advance which was very delicious. The view, hot tub and fire pit out doors are great ways to relax and visit with other guests. We plan to return.

Absolutely magnificent!
My wife and I had a great experience at the Rosemont...
Upon our arrival, we met the owners Howard and Linda. Howard gave us a tour of the Rosemont and provided us with the history the house and the historic artwork throughout the house. Everything is beautifully and tastefully maintained. The owners have also collected photographs, books and the family history realted to the property. It's a very substantial and interesting collection.
Howard and Linda were wonderful hosts for our mid-week get away. They were friendly and welcoming, kind and considerate. While on a walk with my wife to see the other beautiful, historic homes and buildings surrounding the Rosemont, we talked to a neighbor. The neighbor offered unsolicited praise of the owners and their property.
During the evening Howard built a fire in the fire pit overlooking the Ohio River. Very nice, I highly recommend it...
We retired to the house and stayed in the James K room overlooking the river. The room was quiet, comfortable and well appointed.
The next morning, we woke up to a wonderful breakfast preapred by Linda. She's an excellent cook and presented food almost too pretty to eat.
As we prepared to leave, Linda took our picture on the front steps of the house. She gave us a printed picture after we had loaded the car.
We have good memories of our visit and only good things to say about our stay. We hope to return soon...

My husband & I were looking for a place to just get away but semi close to home. We looked into Belterra but they were booked. (luckily) So online we found the Rosemont Inn and it had a wine tour package (right up our alley!!) We arrived and were greated by 2 of the nicest and friendliest people Howard & Linda. They gave us the tour of the most beautiful B & B with a wonderful view as well and served us a few select wines that were quiet nice.(really set the mood and was very relaxing) The 2 nights we stayed were filled with great food, wonderful conversation and Howard & Linda's total commitment to catering to our every need making our stay better than some of the 5 star places we have stayed before. Linda's cooking is 5 star as well. We will be staying again hopefully soon!! We would highly recommend a trip to the Rosemont Inn, Vevay, IN. to all. Joe & Carrie Hartell

My mom and I had a wonderful experience at the Rosemont Inn. My moms birth day was a success on 9/08/07.We both had a awesome time. The Mansion is unbelievable. I truly walked around in "Amazed" the entire time. The Bed and Breakfast is first class all the way. Linda and Howard are two of the most generous and interesting people we've ever met, and they truly focus on making your stay fun. Linda is a phenomenal cook, so I encourage everyone to make reservations in advance for dinner by Linda.. Gourmet breakfast and dinners prepared by Linda are five star all the way!!! Actually the meals are more then five stars in my book. Plus Howard is a Awesome host and great company and conversationalist. The Rosemont's rooms are kept in time with the period of the era, but with special touches that are added with the comforts, needs and wants of the guests in mind. One visit to the Rosemont will show that the Rosemont is run from the hearts of Linda and Howard, which are full of love and giving. Linda and Howard just seem to do everything in their power to make your stay wonderful. If you plan on being in the area, I suggest you give them a call or e-mail and stay at the Rosemont Inn. You won't be disappointed, plus you'll meet 2 new wonderful friends and family.. AND YOU WILL BE VERY RELAXED.

These two people open up there arms and home to you and make you feel like you are at home. The area is divine and the river overlook and setting is superb. A place to visit and enjoy. If there is interest in gambling the casino "Belterra' is only 10 minutes away. We have already decided to return sometime soon.

My girlfriend Kiely and I lucked out and booked the Rosemont on Labor Day weekend this year after a cancellation !!!! The Mansion is unbelievable. I truly walked around in "AWE" the entire time. It was first class all the way. The rooms were perfect and the gourmet breakfast and dinners prepared by Linda were five star all the way!!! Sitting on the porch and relaxing while watching the river is a must when visiting here !!!! We both wish to thank Howard for the amazing conversations and the nightly fires down by the river. This B & B is a must if you truly love a great place to getaway. Sincerely, Nick Phillips Kiely Howell

If you are looking for wonderful, carefree weekend then you have to stay at The Rosemont!! Not only is the view absolutely gorgeous, the mansion, and the hospitality are second to none! You feel like you truly are "at home". The food is wonderful, Linda knows what she's doing :) There is a casino 7 miles from the B&B with free shuttle service. There is also a local winery in town where you can share a bottle of wine and set out on the back deck to view the Ohio. We have already booked again!!!

My husband and I traveled here to attend a show at the Belterra Casino 8 miles down the road. The Casino had no rooms available, thankfully. We were able to book Anna's Room on the second floor of this beautiful B&B, a restored 1881 mansion on the banks of the Ohio River in the small, Norman Rockwell-style town of Vevay, Indiana. Vevay is in Switzerland County, a region settled by Swiss immigrants who grew grapes and bottled wines in this lush area. Today, the area is a major growing and bottling region and Vevay hosts a three day celebration in honor of the elixir.
The Inn has been lovingly restored with no money spared. Every room has a working fireplace. There are robes and slippers provided, as well as drinks, snacks and tourist info readily available. There is an extensive collection of original art work and antiques throughout the place. However, a very nice hi- def TV is available in the parlor should you desire a peek at the sports scores! A piano is being restored and returned to the original music parlor soon. The highlight of the property is the shaded front porch with the comfy rocking chairs and the sprawling lawn which rolls down to the river inviting a stroll at any hour. Perched on the hill by the river is a barbecue spit and a soothing hot tub. The setting is breathtaking and it's a true bargain having all this luxury, pampering and peace at less than $120 per night.
We didn't have the opportunity to have dinner, however Linda Awand's menus looked enticing. The breakfast was delicious. She honored my vegetarian request and we were served a delicious egg /cheese frittata, fresh locally grown fruit, chocolate chip muffins and fluffy pancakes with three choices of syrups. The meat eaters had a generous portion of bacon.
Checkout time was 11:00, but the Awands were encouraging guests to check out at their leisure on this beautiful morning. They are the most gracious hosts and all the guests truly enjoyed the experience. We will definitely return when we can enjoy the town, the wineries and more of the local flavor at this serene spot.

Our visit to the Rosemont Inn was a wonderfull experience. We stayed in the Ritz-Charlton Naples in Jan. 2007. We found our stay to be equal if not superior to that stay ( at a much more affordable price). The food, lodging and congenial atmosphere, made our stay a most enjoyable time. I recommend the Rosemont Inn to anyone.

5 stars are not enough to show how fantastic the Rosemont and her keepers, Linda and Howard, care for their guests. We had met Linda and Howard on a previous visit when we were just passing through and wanted to see this beautiful home. We were greeted by two of the greatest people who gave us the grand tour, sat and visited with us and treated us like family. We fell in love with the house, in all of its charm and grace, and with Linda and Howard, so much so that my then fiance' and I called and asked if we could be married in the front parlor and honeymoon there.
It was all like a fairy tale come true. I married the girl of my dreams in a place that only a fairy tale could explain. My wife and I were honored when Linda and Howard agreed to be our witnesses. They made the whole stay something that can't and will never be forgotten, by myself or my wife. Linda's culinary abilities are unbelievable. Each meal was prepared with love and left us thinking she could not top that meal, only to, very pleasantly, prove us wrong, with the next meal. The Rosemont's rooms were kept in time with the period of the era, but with special touches that the Awands added with the comforts, needs and wants of the guests in mind. One visit to the Rosemont will show that the Rosemont is run from the hearts of Linda and Howard, which are full of love and giving. If you plan on being in the area, I suggest you give them a call or e-mail and stay at the Rosemont Inn. You won't be disappointed, plus you'll meet 2 new wonderful friends in the Awands.

My wife and I have stayed at several B&B's over the past 5 years, and this experience tops them all. Linda and Howard are two of the most generous and interesting people we've ever met, and they truly focus on making your stay fun. Linda is a phenomenal cook, so I encourage everyone to make reservations in advance for dinner by Linda. We both had the filet mignon (wow, incredible!). Linda and Howard just seem to do everything in their power to make your stay wonderful. We've only known them for a weekend, but we feel like they are truly our friends. We have always liked the idea of seeing new places, and going to new B&B's on those rare occasions we get away for a long weekend, but we think we've found where we are supposed to be from now on! The home and art are gorgeous, as are the views, and there is so much to do in Madison and the State Park. We are already making plans to go back!

My husband and I were looking for a weekend get away and found the Rosemont Inn. Linda and Howard invite you into their home like you are part of the family. The house is beautiful and in keeping with the time period. Fine art and antiques grace every room and all of the public areas are so relaxing they invite conversation with your fellow guests. Linda is a wonderful cook, so have dinner if you can. We already have reservations for Sept. and can't wait to return.
